Keep your property safe!

How do you keep your property safe whilst you are away enjoying the sun?
Keeping your property safe whilst you are on holiday
The last thing you want to do is worry about security and safety, so with our simple tips, you can enjoy your holiday and relax!

1. Never post on social media that you are on holiday, its surprising how many people can see posts without your realising it.
2. To minimise the risks of a break in, give a trusted neighbour, family member or friend a spare key and ask them to pop in from time to time.
3. Make sure you cancel any regular deliveries, such as milk or your daily newspaper delivery – and don’t order anything online that may arrive while you’re away.
4. Make sure all windows and doors are locked before you leave. Check any garages, sheds and outbuildings.
5. Keep your valuable items, including computers and laptops, out of sight or lock them away if possible. Get a safe if you can.
6. Get security cameras/ doorbells. Smart doorbells with cameras controlled from your phone, a great way to keep a check on things.
7. Invest in some timers for your lights, install them in the bedroom and rooms to the front of the prop. Motion-detection security lights around the exterior of your house will turn on as soon as they sense movement.
8. Never put your full home address on your luggage labels. Even if you want to have a quick get away in the morning, don’t pack your luggage into your car the night before.
9. Join a Neighbourhood Watch scheme, if there’s one in your area. If there isn’t, you could set one up.
10. Ask your agent if you are selling your home to visit the property whilst you are away to keep and eye on things, and to tidy away accumulating post which is a giveaway that a house is unoccupied….this is all part of the first class service with Lawler & Co!

These are just a few tips to follow to help you relax and unwind to enjoy that well deserved break.

Lawler & Company donate £1,500 to East Cheshire hospice

Back in September, two of our directors Leigh Lawler & Carl Bateman competed in the Rightmove regatta and managed to secure with no previous sailing experience a respectable second place resulting in £1,500 each for two local charities. One of the charities that Lawler & Company were keen to support and donate to was East Cheshire hospice.
